Payment & cancellation

The whole thing in one line: nothing is locked in until you pay.

Before you pay
Nothing is locked in.
Sending the form doesn't commit you to anything, and you owe nothing. Your date only becomes yours once payment is done.
Change or cancel anytime.
Your plan, your date, your spot — change them as many times as you like, right up until you pay. Or walk away, free of charge.
After you pay

How payment works

Through Lovegraph by credit card — VISA, Mastercard, JCB, Amex, Diners and Discover. A single payment for the full amount, charged in Japanese yen. I'll give you the go-ahead once your booking is ready to pay.

Refunds go back to the card you paid with. When it appears on your statement is up to your card company.

Anything already paid for on your behalf — travel fees, or hotels booked for a multi-day Journey — can't be refunded, since that money is already spent.

Postponing

Life happens — and I'd always rather move your shoot than lose it. Whatever the reason, weather or your own plans, tell me as early as you can (at least 5 days before) and I'll do my best to find another date where we can shoot in the best conditions.

If our schedules truly can't meet, it becomes a cancellation.

If it rains

My shoots live outdoors, so I don't keep an indoor plan B — a café or a bar isn't somewhere we can shoot freely for an hour or two. Instead, here's how I handle it:

FirstWe move it. Rain usually means better photos on another day, so postponing is my first choice — tell me early and I'll do everything I can to find a new date.
OrWe shoot with umbrellas. If moving it isn't possible, we stay outside and make it work — umbrellas and all.
OrWe take it to the night. Wet streets after dark give reflections you'd never get on a dry day. I'll shift the time and the spot to use what the weather gives us.

If you're late

Late arrivals come off the end — we still shoot, just with less time.

Please remember this one: if I haven't heard from you 15 minutes after our start time, it counts as a cancellation with no refund. Just message me if you're running late — that's all it takes.

Trains are far more reliable than taxis — Tokyo traffic is hard to predict.

If you do take a taxi, plan to arrive 10–15 minutes early.
